Over the past few weeks, some of you have written to us after seeing posts online calling Hlin Jewelry a scam. Some of those posts include screenshots of "chat conversations" with our team.
You deserve a straight answer, so here it is.
Those conversations never happened. We don't recognize the screenshots being shared, and they don't match any conversation we've ever had with a customer.
Faking a chat log takes minutes these days, and AI tools make it easier still. So we won't ask you to just take our word for it. Here's how you can check for yourself.
How to know it's really us
- hlinjewelry.com is our one and only official website. Any other website, store or social account using the Hlin Jewelry name is not us, and we can't stand behind anything sold there.
- We only contact customers from alston@hlinjewelry.com or on WhatsApp at +852 4462 4179. A message that claims to be from Hlin Jewelry but comes from any other email address or number is not from us.
- Every order ships with a tracking number, so you can follow your package yourself on the carrier's website.
- Not sure about something? Forward the message, link or website to alston@hlinjewelry.com and we'll tell you whether it's really us.
Who we are
Hlin is a real person, and the brand carries her name. She has a designer's eye, and she personally selects every piece in our collection. I'm Alston, her husband, and I take care of everything else.
We've always believed the right way to compete is to do our own work well: offer beautiful pieces, ship every order, and look after every customer. So far that has brought us more than 3,000 customers in dozens of countries.
The people behind that number
Our customers have let us share a few of their stories.
A bride in Miami. One customer came to us in a hurry. Her wedding in Miami was seven days away, and she needed her ring before then. Shipping from our studio to the US normally takes at least ten days, so I told her honestly that it would be very hard. That night I called UPS and checked the customs situation, and we sent the ring the fastest way we could. By the grace of God, it arrived in seven days, in time for the wedding. Afterwards she sent us photos from her wedding day. She was wearing the ring that had traveled halfway around the world in a week.
A lawyer in New York, who wanted a piece she could wear every day, from the courtroom to dinner.
A new graduate, who wanted something special to wear to her prom.
A woman going through chemotherapy, who wanted to look and feel beautiful in her photos. We were honored to be part of that moment.
We share these stories with our customers' permission, and we've left out their names to protect their privacy.
Why we're writing this
We'll be honest: the past few years haven't been easy, and these recent attacks have been hard on us, on Hlin most of all, because her name is on everything we sell. Still, we're not going to fight this out online. We'd rather let our work, our tracking numbers and our customers speak for us.
